At Biocleave our strains were historically used in the ABE process. We’ve repurposed these industrial workhorses to push the boundaries of what clostridia can achieve – as an endotoxin-free expression host. We now use Clostridia to produce high-purity, active RUO proteins as part of our recombinant protein services.

We own an extensive and diverse strain collection and have over 15 years of experience in engineering, adapting and fermenting clostridia. Understanding the biochemistry and physiology of these microbes is key to exploiting them for novel applications. Our protein expression services have been used to deliver endotoxin-free, recombinant proteins across multiple research industries.
